What is a Prospectus?

A prospectus is a document that is required by and filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). A prospectus is issued to provide information about an investment and informs investors or potential investors about the risks involved with investing in a stock of mutual fund. It provides details about an investment, such as its objectives, historical performance, fees and expenses, fund management, risks, and investment strategies.

As you consider your investment options or establish or update the investments within your retirement account, you will be presented with the opportunity to view the prospectus for each investment option. You are strongly encouraged to take the opportunity to do this in order to help ensure that you are making an informed decision about your investments.
